Rebates can be a great way for you to save money, especially
on major purchases. You don’t get the savings if you don’t send in the
paperwork or fill it out wrong. Take advantage of the promotions offered by
companies to save you money because they are counting on you not to send the
rebate in. Up to sixty percent of rebates are not redeemed. Follow these steps
to make sure it is a smooth process of getting what you except.
1.
Mail the rebate in. I have stamps and envelopes in
my car so I can mail out my form. This stops me from losing any receipts or UPC
codes needed for rebates.
2.
Send in your rebates right away. Many companies
have a time limit for consumers to send in documentation.
3.
Save the box. A rebate application may require
the UPC code off the box the product came in.
4.
Follow the instructions on the rebate form. Many
rebates ask for you to circle the product and price on your receipt, do
everything the form asks.
5.
Make a copy of the form, receipt and write down
timeline. If you do have a rebate rejected you usually will receive a card in
the mail with a number to call.
