Column in Herald Leader April 30

The community’s top volunteers were honored at the Central Kentucky Volunteer Awards recognition breakfast on Tuesday morning, coordinated by the United Way of the Bluegrass and sponsored by Lexmark. I was recognized as the winner of the Individual Service Award. I would like to say that I deserved it but there was a roomful of volunteers who make such a difference every day in Kentucky that I felt honored to just be there with them. Here are the winners but all the nominees should pat themselves on the back for a job well done.
