Herald Leader Column April 2 - 9

Writing this column allows me to share my deals with the public. I know the public has many deals that they could share with me. Every third Tuesday starting April 21, Join me, The Fru-Gal at The Ronald McDonald House 1300 Sports Center Drive, Lexington from 6:00 to 7:00 for an informative group discussion on couponing, budgeting, rebating and lots more. The only thing I ask for admission is an item from the Ronald McDonald House wishlist found on www.rmhclexington.com (go to how to help tab). This will be a great way to learn and save but also help a charity. Attendance is limited call Travis Goodyear at 268-4486 for registration.

One fact that we all know is that our children learn from what they see. I say that in reference of couponing, budgeting and fiscal responsibility. The next generation needs to have this information. How can you teach them if you can’t do it for yourself? Here is a start. The Carnegie Center and Republic Bank are offering a series of FREE workshops on Financial Literacy. If you need help creating a budget to fit your current lifestyle while saving money for the future attend the Basic Banking and Budgeting class get tips and tricks on April 9 at 6:00 – 7:15. Here is the class that I love, Financial Literacy for Teens. They will learn basic financial management skills essential to a successful future and financial independence. The class is on Thursday, April 16 at 6:00. If as usual your teen doesn’t think this is important make it a fun evening of dinner and a class.
