Column for May 7- Happy Mothers Day

I never would have thought that there are so many ups and downs to motherhood.
As mothers we put so much on our shoulders that we tend to forget about ourselves. I asked my mother when it would get easier? She said I will always worry for my children no matter how old they are. She is a great inspiration to me, as I hope I am to my children. To every mother, happy Mother’s Day.
Remember, Sunday is your day. Let everyone else do the work for you. It is time you get a little rest because motherhood is one of the hardest jobs on earth.
Coming Saturday
If you want to make being a mom a little easier, learn to save money Saturday at Fru-Gal Fair 2.
I’ll give you tips to save money by using coupons, getting samples and so much more.
The free fair, presented by BluegrassMoms.com, is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lexington Public Library, Northside Branch, 1733 Russell Cave Road.
At 11 a.m., I’ll talk about saving money; at noon, Herald-Leader food writer Sharon Thompson will share tips for saving money in the kitchen. Bring your unwanted coupons because you can swap them with others. Whole Foods Market and the Ronald McDonald House also will be there to share valuable information. The first 200 participants will get a free coupon organizer.
For more information, call Sally Scherer at (859) 231-3303.
