Column for June 18 - 24

I went to Boston last week to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom and my best friend. I used frequent flyer miles to get there on a free ticket along with points from my credit card to get a free room. Talk to your bank about what rewards are associated with your credit card. It can be a great way to get free airfare and lodgings. But remember to pay off your credit card monthly. Before I took my trip I looked on the internet to see what was happening in the city and I found a great free concert being offered in the park. My mother’s library lets her check out free admission tickets to local museums so off we went to the Museum of Science, Museum of Contemporary Arts and Aquarium. To remind me of my wonderful trip, my friend made a DVD of all the pictures she took along with some great music. I couldn’t think of a better gift from the heart. If you want to learn more about making a DVD with your digital photos sign up for a class at the Northside Library. Call ((859) 231-5590 to register. With Father’s Day coming this Sunday, remember it isn’t the price of the gift that matters, it’s the heart that goes into it. Here are some deals worth checking out
