Column July 9 - July 15

Angel Food Ministries is a program offered at various churches in the area that offers bulk discounted food at a reasonable price. I ordered the “signature box” for $30 which consisted of a variety of food to feed a family of four for a week. I went to Rosemont Baptist Church, 556 Rosemont Garden, for my box. The pick-up process was easy and lunch was provided at the church. I analyzed the value of the purchase and was pleasantly happy. What I would like to stress is that the program is not just for low-income families. The Web site states that, “There are no qualifications, minimums, income restrictions, or applications.” And there are packages for seniors (it contains fully cooked meals) and allergen-free boxes. Go to http://www.angelfoodministries.com/or call the program hotline at (877) 366-3646 for more information.
