Fru-Gal Column November 18

Here we are right in the middle of the holiday season. If you had heeded my advice most of your shopping is already done but those of you just starting here is a little advice.
1. Decide how much you are willing to spend, and stick to it. If you cannot afford it right now, consider that you cannot afford it at all.
2. Make your list. Decide whom you are going to buy for then decide on a dollar figure per gift.
3. Cut down your list. I know you want to buy for everyone but be realistic, look closely at who you are buying for.
4. Be creative. Some people would be just as happy with a nice card or maybe some home-baked cookies. Remember, the holidays aren’t about presents but goodwill towards others.
5. Carry your new shopping list with you at all times. Start shopping now with sales and don’t overspend on anyone.
