Fru-Gal Update February 17

I am sure by now you've heard of group-buying or daily deal sites. These sites are great ways to save big on entertainment, gifts, restaurants, and more. I have been using these sites lately but remember sometimes a great deal may not be so great. How do you get the most out of a deal?
Many of these deals are for online stores. The deal sites usually always have a link to the stores actual website. Check these out first before purchase. A voucher for $100 worth of clothing for $50 might sound great but if the average cost of the product is $75 to $100 for a shirt you do need to ask yourself would I really pay that much for a shirt.
Are there any hidden fees? Some vouchers actually include the price of shipping. If you buy a $100 certificate for $50 part of the price can go towards the shipping cost. If not your voucher for $10 off a $20 purchase and shipping is $9.95, makes your deal not a deal at all. Check out shipping cost before purchase.
Another benefit of these sites is the voucher is usually good for a year. Just remember not to overbuy.
Almost every group buying site gives you incentives to get your friends and family on board by offering you referring credits. Some sites even offer you free credits that you can use right away when you sign up.
