Fru-Gal Update March 24

Nothing says spring like opening the windows letting the sun shine in and seeing all the dust and dirt. Just by doing some spring cleaning can make you feel emotionally better when you walk into your house. You can even clean the inside of your home on the cheap. There are products on the grocery shelves that have many different household uses. Baking soda can be used to deodorize carpets by sprinkling over the carpet leaving it overnight then vacuuming the next morning. Put a little baking soda on a sponge to wipe down your bathroom sink and tub. Add a quarter of a cup to the rinse cycle to freshen up laundry. For about a dollar buy a 16 ounce bottle of white vinegar using it to wipe your fridge with a 50-50 water-vinegar solution. Brighten your whites by adding a half a cup to the rinse cycle. Use the same 50-50 solution to make your windows sparkle. A fifty cent lemon can purify your microwave by filling a bowl with warm water and few slices of lemon for 30 seconds. If you to buy some products that are specific to certain cleaning jobs here are a few bargains this week. On sale this week at Walgreens for 50 cents you can buy latex gloves or Comet cleanser. CVS has a wide array of household products on sale and when you buy $15 worth you will receive $5 back in CVS extracare bucks. Use an additional $1 coupon from PineSol.com to make a bottle of Pine Sol just $1. Cleaning the toilets even got cheaper at Target. Print out $1 coupon at Target.com for SoftScrub use this coupon with $1 manufacturer coupon from 3/13 Sunday paper making the final price just 49 cents.

Pine-Sol is donating $40,000 to Reading is Fundamental, and for every two likes on their facebook page in March they will donate a book. www.facebook.com/pinesol
