Right now all the stores are having a sale on holiday items
to help you have a wonderful dinner on a budget. This is the time to create a
stockpile to help you save money in 2013. How long do products last if they are
stored properly, they can last over a year. Canned vegetables need to be stored
in a cool, dry area check out the best if used by dates that are on the product
most canned vegetables will be good for up to 5 years. If you have frozen
vegetables make sure you keep frozen until you are ready to use. These will
last up to 12 months if they are kept in a properly frozen freezer of 0 degrees
Fahrenheit. Cake and Cookies mixes are good for up to 18 months. Once it is
opened make sure it is tightly sealed and if the mix develops an off odor throw
it away. Cookie dough from the stores refrigerator is good until two month. Box
of crackers that are opened can keep for one month if tightly sealed in your
pantry. You can extend their storage life by freezing them. Just wrap crackers
with heavy-duty aluminum foil or use freezer bags and you now can keep them up
to four months. If you are making cookies using chocolate chips you can keep
the extras in a cool, area tightly sealed for up to 16 months. If they get
exposed to overly warm or humid temperatures, chocolate may develop a white
film this affects it appearance only the chocolate is still safe to eat. Butter
that has been continuously refrigerated will usually keep for about one month
after the good to date on package. Butter may be left at room temperature for
one to days, but it will begin to spoil fast after that. If you store your
butter in the molded butter compartment of the refrigerator located on door it
will only last a week it will last much longer when stored in the main body of
the refrigerator. Frozen salted butter will generally keep longer (up to 9
months) than unsalted butter (up to 6 months). If you have any questions about
