When figuring out your monthly budget, what percentage should you set aside for entertainment expenses? Many experts say setting aside five to ten percent of your monthly income is a reasonable starting point. Remember that entertainment covers a wide array of expenses like cable, movies, going out for ice cream, etc. Anything you do for fun. If you plan a yearly vacation this category is where you should put an expense for vacation fund. When cutting back or looking for extra money this category is one that you could decrease each month. If you are working towards a family vacation take a look at other monthly entertainment expenses that you can eliminate for your ultimate goal. This category lets you be creative with your fun. There are many places in the area that offer low cost or free events.

Home Depot offers children ages 5 -12 hands-on workshops on the first Saturday of each month between 9am and 12pm. The workshop teaches kids do-it-yourself skills, tool safetly and instill a sense of pride. All kids get to keep their craft and receive a workshop apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.
