On February 27th all Whole Foods Market stores in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. will simultaneously “crack open” a wheel of the best hand-selected 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano in an attempt to raise recognition for the king of cheese and to honor the tradition and celebration behind it. The “cracking” will mark the grand-finale to a month-long spotlight on Parmigiano Reggiano and will also attempt to break the Whole Foods Market record of nearly 300 wheels opened at 176 stores in 2008.
The event will feature an in-store expert demonstrating the art of cracking an 85-pound wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese – a process that takes about 30 minutes – with samples and recipe ideas inspiring customers to find new and innovative ways to enjoy this delicious cheese.
To really “Crack” you up, we will be partnering with Comedy off Broadway here in Lexington Green. There will be a drawing for tickets to see Jake Johannsen’s show on Saturday evening.
